Dying Light
04:52
|
|||
Running through the redwoods (crying)
Running through the dead and dying light
Running off to somewhere
From everything (anything)
Some days are never right...
Go ahead...
Call me a child.
Go ahead...
Tell me all the lies.
Go ahead...
Accuse me of filling int the spaces
(When I live between the lines).
January came crashing down upon me
I couldn't breathe with all the snow
I couldn't sing for all the silences
But you left me nowhere else to go
So now I'm...
Running through the redwoods (laughing)
When I see I've passed this way before
I woke up looking for salvation
But only found an open door...
Now May can never taste
So sweet as September
(For I have seen the fruit I've sewn)
Oh! Why is it only in the dying of the harvest
I can finally taste the Spring that I have known?
Running through the redwoods...
Running from the darkness (and the light)
Running...
Always running...
And nowhere is ever right.

Čula jesam da se dragi ženi
Srce moje
Čula jesam da se dragi ženi
Srce moje
Jagoda črlena, jagoda malena
Pozdravi mi v Koprivnici dragoga
Jagoda črlena, jagoda malena
Pozdravi mi v Koprivnici dragoga
Nek se ženi, to je drago meni
Srce moje
Nek se ženi, to je drago meni
Srce moje
Jagoda črlena, jagoda malena
Pozdravi mi v Koprivnici dragoga
Jagoda črlena, jagoda malena
Pozdravi mi v Koprivnici dragoga
I ja ću mu u svatove doći
Srce moje
I ja ću mu lepi dar donesti
Srce moje
Jagoda črlena, jagoda malena
Pozdravi mi v Koprivnici dragoga
Jagoda črlena, jagoda malena
Pozdravi mi v Koprivnici dragoga
V levoj ruki kita ružmarina
Srce moje
V desnoj ruki malenoga sina
Srce moje
Jagoda črlena, jagoda malena
Pozdravi mi v Koprivnici dragoga
Jagoda črlena, jagoda malena
Pozdravi mi v Koprivnici dragoga

Madeline

Loving you is akin to stealing
Honey from the bees:
Your sweetness in my mouth
The dangers in my mind.
I tread with caution, eagerly
Like playing hide & seek,
But the more of you I seek
The more there is to find...
Oh...Madeline...
There's a ring around the moon!
And, oh! My Madeline...
The junebugs sing our tune!
If I could only reach your hand
I'd put a ring upon it, too
I'd pull you close
Whispering your name
But you come & go, like summertime...
And no one is to blame.
No, no one is to blame,
Madeline.
Oh, the thought of you is like the sweetest
Boysenberry pie!
And the more of you I taste, the more my appetites...
We lie over, under
Never wonderin' how to
Pass the time,
For the summer spends itself
With our bodies intertwined...
Oh, oh! Madeline...
The columbine
Is blooming!
And oh, my Madeline...
There's a ring around the moon.
If I could only reach your hand,
I'd put a ring upon it too!
I'd pull you close,
Whispering your name...
But you come & go like summertime,
And no one is to blame.
No, no one is to blame...
(My Madeline).
Oooooo....
Oooooo....
Oh....Madeline!
There's a ring around the moon...
And oh, my Madeline...
If I could only reach your hand,
I'd put a ring upon it too!
I'd pull you close,
Whisper your name...
You were never meant to stay,
But I stay true!
(And love you...like the ever-changing
........Moon).

When first I came to town
They called me the roving jewel
Now they've changed their tune
Call me Katy Cruel
When first I came to town
They brought me the bottles plenty
Now I've settled down
They pass me the bottles empty
I diddle-olly-day
I fa-lit-full-fie-o-day
Eyes as bright as diamonds
Lips as red as cherry
And it's my delight
To see the young folks merry
I diddle-olly-day
I fa-lit-full-fie-o-day
One day I'll dress in silk
And shoes of Spanish leather
Combs to bind up my hair
And a ring for every finger
I diddle-olly-day
I fa-lit-full-fie-o-day
I'll dye my petticoats red
And face them with yellow
I'll tell all the lads
My own heart I will follow
Oh! That I was where I would be
Then I would be where I am not
Here I am, where I must be
Where I would be, I can not
I diddle-olly-day
I fa-lit-full-fie-o-day
I know who I love,
And I know who does love me.
I know where I will go...
But the devil knows who I'll marry!
I diddle-olly-day
I fa-lit-full-fie-o-day
Through the woods I go
Through the boggy mire
Straight way cross the fields
'Til I come to my heart's desire!
When I first came to town
They called me the roving jewel
Now they've changed their tune
They call me.... Katy Cruel.

We built a paper boat
And called it 'Love,'
As though it could weather
Storms at sea...
And, sink or swim,
We believed that we
Could find our way back home,
To what we wanted.
(Or, at least, what used to be).
And I was a captain!
Oh, I was a sailor!
And I never doubted
The weather or the water,
Or the strength of
You & me!
I held you to me, like
We were made for each other;
Like the wind takes her lover:
Completely and free.
How, like a child,
I would look for your face
In the star, in the sand
In the sea & land,
In the dark & in between the sheets...
My caravan was leaving
To wander the world,
Be it Bangladesh or
New York City streets,
It didn't matter!
And I drank my coffee
On the streets of Morroco,
And I swore I would NEVER
Give in...to despair!
But the sun is so much crueler
In the desert...
Much more hungry & silent
Than the hills of old Ireland
Or the sighing of the waves...
There was nowhere to hide;
I got lost in the middle of
The sound of the tide
And the song of you and me...
But I held you to me
Like we were made for each other
Like the wind, she takes her lover:
Completely and free!
Oh, there was nowhere to hide!
And I got lost in the middle of
The sound of the tide,
And the songs of you and me!
Oooohhhh...
Ooooohhhh....
